Sod is tacked down and first cut will be this week.  We added a trench for drainage on the low end of the yard, and we will add pipe and gravel on 6/4 or 6/5.  Afterwards, we are going to come back in and add a decomposed granite edge for the dumpsters and brush boxes to be placed (seasonally).

Hydraulic Leak on Memorial Day (#14 Green)
A hydraulic hose on the greens triplex burst on #14 green.  It affected one pass, but the damage is thin enough to fix without having to use sod from our nursery.  Tomorrow we will aerify this pass with 1/2" hollow tine with tight spacing, then topdress and come over the top with a hand spiker.

Mutations
The greens have an unusual look this time of the year before we mow.  It has been like this since 2016, and was most prevalent on #8 green early on.  Usually after we get deep into our verticut/topdress program in the summer, it doesn't look as bad.  It has no affect on playability, and it is much less noticeable after we mow each morning.

We normally verticut, (sometimes mow), then topdress and drag.  We tried it this way to see if it would push the sand into the verticut grooves and tighten up the canopy.  It worked pretty well, but the cleanup pass was a little heavier with sand, of which we blew off the excess into the rough.


Riparian Renovation Update
We are growing just about every unwanted plant in these areas, especially tobacco weed and johnsongrass.  The johnsongrass will be sprayed with a high rate of monument in the larger patches, and hand removed (weak root system) in spots.  The annual ryegrass is beginning to burn up, so the plan is to wait for it to completely die, then come in with a weedeater and trim everything down and seed the proso millet to fill voids for the summer.
